The South Dakota Stock Grower’s Association will hold their annual convention in Rapid City this week. Executive Director Silvia Christen says they’ll kick it off with a pair of workshops looking at transitioning the ranch and setting up a computerized accounting system.
Christen says their major national issue is continued support of mandatory country of origin labeling and their opposition to changing it to a voluntary program.
She says they’ll also hear about disease issues facing producers as well as get a state legislative update.
Christen says they’ll also talk about wildlife management, animal health and marketing issues. The convention is October 1 and 2 in Rapid City.
