South Dakota Stock Grower’s Association members held their convention in Rapid City over the weekend and re-elected President Bob Fortune of Belvediere and Vice President Bill Kluck of Mud Butte to one year terms. Association Executive Director Silvia Christen says one new policy was approved and that expresses concern about the Global Roundtable on Sustainable Beef and its vertical integration of the industry.
Christen says their board also reaffirmed past policy supporting Country of Origin Labeling and wanting reform of the Beef Check off..
Christen says they also want more separation between the Cattlemen’s Beef Board and NCBA.
