A new study released by the Ag Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture says livestock producers are safe from catching COVID 19 from Farm Animals. South Dakota State Veterinarian Dr. Dustin Oedekoven says while there’s still a lot to know about COVID 19, this research finding is solid.
He says ARS’ study ruled farm animals are not a primary risk for COVID 19.
Oedekoven says the ARS study supports what researchers have been finding out about COVID 19.
Researchers found that of all the animals considered in the study only white tailed deer were susceptible to the COVID 19 virus. The deer didn’t get sick but spread the virus to other deer.
