Dakotafest is scheduled for next week at Mitchell, South Dakota and South Dakota State University will be on hand during the farm show with several extension specialists ready to answer farmers questions.  Karla Trautman serves as the Director of SDSU Extension.  Trautman says on the third day of the farm show SDSU’s focus will be on soil fertility.  Trautman says South Dakota State can be found in the same spot as last year’s exhibit space at Booth 216.  The SDSU Director of Extension says extension personnel and information will be available to address silage and forage, risk management, precision agriculture, cover crops, drainage, estate planning and succession, and beef cow reproduction along with water and nitrate testing.  Dakotafest is scheduled for August 16th through the 18th.
