South Dakota State Fair Outlook Optimistic

The South Dakota State Fair starts next Thursday in Huron. State Secretary of Agriculture Mike Jaspers says the five-day fair features 4-H and FFA exhibits and leadership events, livestock shows and great rodeo and grandstand entertainment. He says while there is tradition associated with the fair, they’re also excited about what’s new and improved this year.

He expects 4-H and FFA numbers to be up, as well as attendance. And he says that is a trend that is being seen across the fair circuit.

The State Fair runs September 1-5 this year, ending on Labor Day.
