More and more people are growing specialty crops, and the South Dakota Specialty Producers Association is hosting its annual membership meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 21st beginning at 9:30 a.m. in Ft. Pierre.  Chris Zdorovtsov is the marketing contractor for the South Dakota Specialty Producers Association and talks about the variety of products that fall in the specialty category.

Zdorovtsov says during their annual meeting the members will have updates from different agencies such as the Department of Agriculture, and Extension programs.  Zdorovtsov tells why people produce specialty products.

The Specialty Producers Association official says marketing specialty products can often times present a challenge, but many sell their products at local farmers markets.

Zdorovtsov says following the annual meeting there is another conference looking at specialty crops production, and she hopes people will stick around and attend the second meeting.
