South Dakota Special Session Passes Online Sales Tax Bills

Online retailers doing business in South Dakota will start paying sales taxes on November first.
Lawmakers, in special session Wednesday overwhelmingly approved a couple of bills needed to allow the collections.

Senator Deb Peters of Hartford was the sponsor of the bill that started the process in 2016, and was later appealed to the US Supreme Court….

Both bills passed on a vote of thirty to three, with two absent.

Governor Dennis Daugaard has already signed the bills.
