South Dakota Sheep Grower’s Association members are gathering in Brookings for their state convention September 26 and 27. SDSU Extension Sheep Specialist Jeff Held says there will be a tour Friday morning of Tom and Marilyn Swaybacks operation near Eagen. He says they’ll return to Brookings for some mini sessions following the tour.
Held says Friday night, Chefs will be preparing lamb samples at the Experience Lamb event at the McCrory Gardens Center. Then on Saturday, convention goers will hear from leaders of the American Sheep Industry Association and American Lamb Board.
Held says they’ll also recognize the Master Lamb producers at their noon luncheon and wrap up the convention with a Banquet Saturday night where they’ll hold the finals of Make it with WOOL contest.
