A state Senator from south east South Dakota wants to make some changes to home and property insurance rules.
Dan Lederman of Dakota Dunes says there have been a number of people in his district that have had problems following an insurance claim.

Lederman says the state can put regulations on out of state based companies.

Lederman says he wants insurance companies to be more transparent in how they set and raise rates.

His district has had several episodes of flooding from both the Missouri and Big Sioux Rivers over the past few years.
