Thursday the South Dakota Senate Ag Committee approved and sent forward SB 1157, the funding measure for the Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Lab at SDSU. South Dakota Farm Bureau Lobbyist Mike Held says Senators will take up the measure next week.
He says his group supports the legislation along with two other measures that make up the total package for the lab.
Held says the funding for the ADRDL comes from money that was to go for property tax relief.
Held says the three and a half million dollars in ag fees contained in SB 172 is no longer part of the discussion.
