South Dakota Schools Working out Teacher Pay Plans

As school districts prepare for the start of classes next month, final budget details are being worked out. As part of the sales tax increase passed two years ago, districts have to keep increasing teacher pay, according to a ratio of teachers to students.
Donavon DeBoer, Superintendent of the Parker School District, says they can easily hit their targets……

DeBoer says they were right on the teacher ratios they needed……

DeBoer says they expect some changes in the state formula…..

School districts that don’t hit the accountability targets could face financial penalties.
