The Executive Board of the South Dakota legislature approved the formation of summer study committees at their meeting Monday in Pierre.
One of the studies will be on special education.
Yankton Superintendent Wayne Kindle says they are seeing more students that need those services……
Kindle says the special education budget often doesn’t cover all the costs……
Special education is funded through a property tax assessment. Kindle says school boards don’t control that……….
The other summer study topic will be mental health access and resources.
