Schools across South Dakota had to add signs to all their buildings this summer. The legislature this year passed a law requiring that the motto: “In God We Trust” be placed in all buildings in letters at least twelve inches high.

Tom Culver, Superintendent for the Avon Public School District, says they have theirs done…

Culver says it didn’t cost much extra…

Culver says he isn’t sure the legislature needs to spend time on issues like that…..

The bill (SB55) passed in the state House on a vote of 47 to 19 and in the Senate by a margin of 19 to 13.
