The Rules Review Committee of the South Dakota legislature heard about new high school graduation requirements at their meeting in Pierre this week.
The state Board of Education has come up with three tracks that can help students align their high school classes with their post-secondary plans.
Senator Craig Kennedy of Yankton says the discussion focused on the value of the new diplomas….
Kennedy says they heard about the rigor needed in a graduation track….
The three tracks are called; Advanced, Advanced Career, and Advanced Honors.
Kennedy says not all schools will move to the new requirements right away…
The committee approved the rules on a four to two vote.
