South Dakota Representative Says Farm Bill Close To Completion

Farm Bill Conference Committee members have a few more details to work through before completion the end of January or early February.  That’s according to South Dakota Congresswoman Kristi Noem.  She says refutes House Ag Ranking Member Collin Peterson’s comment that payment limits, not dairy policy, are stalling the bill.  She says they are equally contentious.

Noem says they have settled on nutrition cuts of between $7 to $10 billion.  So now there are just a few minor loose ends to tie up.

She sees the committee wrapping up in late January or early February so permanent law won’t have to be implemented nor will an extension.
