South Dakota PUC Approves Prevailing Wind Construction Permit

The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission has approved a construction permit for Prevailing Wind Park, a two hundred twenty-megawatt wind energy facility in Bon Homme, Charles Mix and Hutchinson Counties.

Commissioner Chris Nelson says they followed state law in the approval..

Nelson says Prevailing Wind met needed requirements, but they added conditions to the permit…

There were a number of opponents to the wind farm. Nelson says they heard their concerns..

Prevailing Wind filed their application with the PUC in May, and a public hearing was held in Avon in July.
