Final plans are being made for the annual South Dakota Pork Congress, scheduled for January 11th and 12th.  This year’s state pork convention will be held in Sioux Falls.  Cagney Effling serves as the South Dakota Pork Producers’ Programs and Communications Director.  Effling says this year’s pork congress will feature two well-known agricultural economists who will give an outlook on the pork industry, and the grain trade.  Effling says the second day of the state pork congress will feature a panel of veterinarians as they discuss diseases within the pork industry.  The South Dakota Pork Producers Communications Director says producers will enjoy seeing all the exhibits represented at the trade show.  Effling says the pork congress will feature representatives from both the National Pork Board, as well as the National Pork Producers Council to discuss with South Dakota pork producers issues on the national platform.  This year’s South Dakota pork congress will be held at the Ramkota Conference Center at Sioux Falls.  Pork producers can pre-register by visiting the South Dakota pork council website.
