Excitement is growing about the pork industry in the region and that will be the focus of the 51st annual South Dakota Pork Producers Council Annual Meeting and Trade Show. Program and Communications Director Stacey Sorlien says the show is scheduled for January 15 and 16 in Sioux Falls with another sold out trade show. She says exhibitors will be representing a cross section of the swine business.
She says the growth of the show is a direct reflection of the expansion of the swine industry in the state and region, especially among young producers.
Sorlien says they’ll also have two days of educational speakers including Jim Wiesemeyer. They will be covering topics such as trade, policy and emerging animal diseases.
The event also features a recognition banquet on the evening of January 15.
