Tuesday, South Dakota State Senators voted 31 to 4 to approve legislation to provide $2 to $ 3 million for a regional swine research facility at South Dakota State University.. The measure passed the House earlier and is on its way to the Governor for his signature.  South Dakota Pork Producers Council President Lester Moeller says the legislation will allow the state and region to reap many benefits from it.

Moeller says there’s been widespread support for this project and he thanks lawmakers and the Governor for moving ahead with it.

Moeller says the new swine unit will benefit producers in South Dakota, in the region and all over the country.
