South Dakota Legislature Passes Resolution Supporting COOL

The South Dakota Legislature has passed a resolution in both the House and Senate calling for the Biden administration to remove barriers to Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling when negotiating trade deals. South Dakota Stock Grower’s Association Executive Director James Halverson says his groups backs having COOL as a trade priority.

He says it’s critical U.S. trade negotiators stand up to any possible retaliation targeted against country of origin labeling.

Halverson says he’s also pleased South Dakota’s Congressional Delegation supports mandatory country of origin labeling.

The Prime Sponsor of the Resolution in the South Dakota Legislature was Senator Gary Cammack.
