South Dakota Legislators Hear Impacts of Meth Addiction

A South Dakota legislative committee met in Pierre Tuesday looking at the impacts and costs of methamphetamine addiction. The group is studying the adequacy and effectiveness of the state’s prevention, intervention and law enforcement efforts.
Committee Chair, Senator Troy Heinert of Mission says there are multiple victims of the drug….

Heinert says the state may have to find more money to head off future problems….

The committee is expected to meet several times this summer and fall to come up with proposed legislation.
