South Dakota Legislative Committee Looking for More Details on Mental Health Access

There is increasing need for mental health services in South Dakota, but lawmakers are looking for more information on access issues.
Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton is a member of the “Access to Mental Health Services” committee that met for the first time in late June.
She says part of the problem is that there are different state agencies handling mental health services…..

Hunhoff says many of those needing mental health services have multiple issues……

Hunhoff says they are asking the state agencies for more specific information…

The committee will meet again next month in Yankton and Sioux Falls to continue the discussion.
