The “Access to Mental Health Services Study” committee of the South Dakota legislature held a two-day meeting this week, in Yankton and Sioux Falls.
The committee is looking at the issues surrounding mental health needs and treatments in the state.
Representative Susan Wismer of Britton says they heard a lot about the services available in the Yankton and Sioux Falls areas…
Wismer says they also heard about the problems with access to services in some of the larger counties…
Wismer says preventive services could be cheaper over the long term…
Wismer says the committee will have at least three more meetings before they come up with any conclusions or legislation.
