The Joint Committee on Appropriations of the South Dakota Legislature reached agreement on authorization and initial funding for a new State Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls.

Senator Larry Tideman of Brookings says it is a good compromise……

Tideman says it also adds goals and deadlines…..

Tideman says they were able to answer most of the objections…..

The state would provide four hundred fifty thousand dollars for design and planning work.
The bill also has a goal of raising three million dollars by 2023. The City of Sioux Falls has promised to donate the land for the cemetery.
The bill passed out of committee on a unanimous vote.
