South Dakota lawmakers will get a chance to debate repealing some or all of Marsys Law. That was added to the state constitution after the 2016 general election. The law provides protections for crime victims.
House Majority Leader Lee Qualm of Platte says they saw an example of the problems last week in Sioux Falls….
Qualm says it is costly for counties…..
Any major modification or repeal of the law would have to go to a vote of the people.
