Several bills have been introduced in the South Dakota legislature to avoid a funding crisis for nursing homes. Several have shut in the past few years, and more could follow due to low Medicaid payments.

Kennedy is a co-sponsor of a bill that would use a combination of state and federal money for a onetime eighteen million dollar payment…..
Governor Kristi Noem talked about a five million dollar plan and changes in payment schedules, but hasn’t introduced a bill yet.
