As part of continued workforce development, South Dakota’s Labor Department is focused on getting young people into jobs.

Labor Secretary Marcia Hultman says kids have a lot going on now…..

Hultman says the number of sixteen to nineteen-year olds with jobs fell from sixty one percent in 2005, to fifty percent in 2015.
Hultman says that means businesses have to be more creative in hiring…..

Hultman says they are also helping young workers develop needed “soft skills”………..

Hultman was in Yankton to give employers more information on “Career Launch South Dakota,” a program the Labor Department is rolling out across the state.
