National Corn Grower’s Association staffers are working to help with the health of honeybees. The group recently attended the annual meeting of the Honeybee Health Coalition and talked about small steps they can take to support honeybee health such as planting of pollinator habitat on unused land on the farm such as grass near farm buildings or on marginal lands like C-R-P. Bruce, South Dakota honey producer Bret Adee appreciates their support and says bees help with many crops.

He says agriculture and wildlife all benefit from healthy honeybees.

Adee says another step that can be taken to help with honeybee health is to use pesticides properly.

NCGA is working with honey producers despite the fact that corn production does not require pollination from bees.
