As one of the busiest travel holidays begins this weekend, the South Dakota Highway Patrol will be out enforcing traffic laws and encouraging safe driving. Assistant Superintendent of the Highway Patrol, Dana Svendsen says there will be quite a few officers on the roads this Thanksgiving weekend.

Svendsen says they’ll be looking for a number of violations in order to make travelling safer for everyone.

He says there were two fatalities last year during the holiday weekend and hopes that number will be zero this year.
