South Dakota Governor Candidates Differ On Agriculture Policy

Candidates in South Dakota’s Governor’s race were on the campaign trail this weekend, including Hobo Days at SDSU. The Democrat and Republican running both have agricultural backgrounds, so what sets them apart? Democratic candidate Billie Sutton says he embodies the hard-working farmers and ranchers in the state and supports their ideals.

Sutton says when it comes to trade, he opposes the Administration’s tariff plan and supports a quick resolution to the trade war.

Republican Candidate and Congresswoman Kristi Noem says the difference she can bring to the Governor’s office is hands-on experience.

And she says her commitment and focus on agriculture is apparent in her running mate selection.

Polls have the two nearly tied in the Governor’s race just three weeks from the election.
