Enrollment for the general Conservation Reserve Program began this week at county Farm Service Agency offices. South Dakota FSA C-R-P Coordinator Owen Fagerhaug says those interested in signing up should get in touch with FSA and make their offer as bids are accepted on a competitive basis.

He says those enrolling in the general program must have a four-year cropping history and if a producer wants to re-enroll, they’re encouraged to do that.

Fagerhaug advises those wishing to sign up for general C-R-P to get in touch with FSA as soon as possible.

Accepted C-R-P offers will begin on October 1, 2021.
