Around 2,000 FFA members from South Dakota are attending the 87th annual National FFA Convention this week in Louisville, Kentucky. South Dakota State Treasurer Nicole Hamilton says several of their members will be picking up awards at the convention.
Hamilton says they also have 42 members receiving American Degrees, another high honor. She also says South Dakota has a National Officer Candidate who’s done quite well so far.
Hamilton adds that three South Dakota FFA members will receive proficiency awards and they include Shane Mueller of Garretson in Ag Mechanics and Repair, Melissa Nelson of McCook Central in diversified livestock and Lance Van Hull of Viborg in swine production.
