The South Dakota FFA Foundation this year has been able to award a record number of FFA jackets for students in the program. Foundation Executive Director Gerri Eide says they were able to help 239 students in 44 chapters with the jackets. Eide says it’s not just a donation as the students have to earn the jackets.
She says they couldn’t have achieved this goal without the help of many generous sponsors and the students get not just a jacket but a tie or scarf as well.
Eide says this year’s total of 239 jackets surpasses last year’s total of 230. The year before that the number was 150. Each jacket costs around $65.
