The South Dakota FFA Foundation this fall has provided two different chapter grants for the state’s FFA members to complete local projects in their communities. Foundation Executive Director Geri Eide says the first grant program involved 9 chapters while the second one helped over a dozen chapters.
She says all these grants were made available thanks to their partners and the second program involves matching grants. Eide says the projects funded covered a variety of community services.
Eide says South Dakota’s FFA members did a great job meeting the challenge of the pandemic in moving ahead to serve their communities with these projects.
The project taken on by the Yankton FFA chapter involved purchasing and planting a variety of tree species to replace Ash trees at the city Golf Course. Eide says based on all the FFA chapter’s and members work, South Dakota can be assured the future of Agriculture is in good hands.
