South Dakota State legislators have agreed to review state government’s involvement in the EB 5 immigrant investor program. South Dakota Farmers Union is hailing that decision. Legislative Director Mike Traxinger says there’s a huge amount of involvement and counter play between the program and agricultural investment related to the failed Northern Beef Packing plant that needs to be reviewed.

Traxinger says having legislators talk about the EB 5 program and thoroughly review it is the proper thing to do.

Senate President pro tem Corey Brown of Gettysburg says he wants the legislature’s joint committee on government operations and audit to look at reports from the reviews of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development that are currently being conducted.
