The South Dakota Farmers Union is tracking three measures expected to be heard this week in the state legislature in Pierre. One deals with non-meandered waters and Farmers Union Lobbyist Mitch Richter says they’re opposing legislation being brought forward by sportsmen’s groups.

He says lawmakers will also hear about a pair of legislative proposals that would change how redistricting is done in South Dakota.

Richter says there needs to be better balance and fairness in determining districts.

Richter says legislators have over 500 bills they’re dealing with this session.
