Today, South Dakota Farmers Union members are in Pierre hosting their legislative day for lawmakers. President Doug Sombke says it’s a chance for their members to meet with and visit with state senators and representatives about important ag concerns. He says they’ll attend committee meetings in the morning and then host a reception or legislators at 1 p.m.:
Sombke says they have five legislative priorities they’ll be talking about when they meet with lawmakers.
He says other priorities include tweaking of the ag land valuation method, common core education standards and the state’s eb five program in relation to northern beef packers.
