South Dakota Farmer and ASA Director Encouraged By China Trade Movement

Recent moves by China to drop punitive tariffs and purchase U.S. soybeans are positive in resolving the current trade war. American Soybean Association Board Director and South Dakota grower Brandon Wipf is very encouraged by recent trade concessions and renewed negotiations by the two nations.

He says even the short-term effects of lifting tariffs and purchasing soybeans will be beneficial for both China and the United States.

Wipf is cautiously optimistic about China’s actions and that they’ll follow through with their promises.

Wipf hopes next month’s talks between the U.S. and China will finally lead to an end to the trade war.
