The recent downturn in the agricultural economy has led to many requests for help from the South Dakota Agriculture Department’s farm loan mediation program. Mediation Specialist Nina Fromm says this is one of the busiest years they’ve every had for mediation requests.

She says by the numbers they’re seeing the ag economy is in rough shape.

Fromm says there are two types of mediation they handle, mandatory and voluntary.
