South Dakota Farm Leader Pleased With Jobs Bill Passage

Last week Thursday the House passed the Jobs for America Act. The measure contains Section 179, an important tax extender for agriculture that is a bonus tax depreciation or new and used capital equipment. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott Vanderwal says his group has been pushing for that extender and is pleased the full legislation was approved.
Vanderwal is hoping they’ll be able to get it through the Senate, although he says the real fight will be in getting the Majority Leader to allow it to come to the floor.
The House legislation passed on a vote of 253 to 163.
