The leader of the South Dakota Farmers Union wants the Environmental Protection Agency to enforce Section 202-L of the Clean Air Act, which would allow enhanced use of E30. President Doug Sombke says the EPA has been spreading misinformation based on bad science and outdated information.

He says the EPA is contributing to the negative impacts of climate change by not pushing more and higher blends of renewable fuels.

Sombke wants the EPA to do a complete study of higher ethanol blends like E30 because he’s confident the results will lead to consumers using the fuel.

Sombke says he’d like to see Senator Mike Rounds hold a field hearing in Sioux Falls. At the hearing EPA’s Director of the Office of Transportation and Air Quality Chris Grundler should explain his misleading statements claiming diesel fuel and vehicles are the problem with climate change rather than gasoline and its carcinogenic components.
