Britain’s foreign secretary Dominic Raab, a close ally of their new Prime Minister Boris Johnson met last week with President Donald Trump. Raab said his government is committed to leaving the European Union by the end of October and wants to complete a bilateral trade deal with the U.S. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal says having a trade pact with the U.K. would be positive for America’s farmers and ranchers.
He says the U.K. could be a good destination for full cuts of U.S. beef.
VanderWal credits President Trump for seeking new trade deals and having one with the U.S. just makes sense.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the U.S. supports the U.K. and will be on the doorstep, pen in hand, ready to sign a new free trade agreement at the earliest possible time.
