U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman has been talking to county elected officials enlisting their support of Trade Promotion Authority. Earlier Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley said the President needed to get actively engaged in seeking that authority. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott Vanderwal says it’s a good sign that the administration is making a more concerted effort in pushing for TPA.

Vanderwal says U.S. agriculture needs solid trade agreements to be able to sell our products to foreign customers and TPA is an important cog in achieving that.

Vanderwal says TPA is also important in completing Sensitive trade deals and is very much needed in order to get over the finish line with the all important Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement.
