The leader of the South Dakota Farm Bureau is encouraged by the results of Tuesday’s election as far as the Governor’s and House of Representative’s races. President Scott VanderWal says both Governor Elect Kristi Noem and Congressman Elect Dusty Johnson have solid ag backgrounds and his group is anxious to work with them.
He says having Kristi Noem move from the House to the Governor’s office should help them with state issues they’re involved with including livestock development.
VanderWal says as far as ag impacts at the national level from the election, both parties can claim wins with the Democrats gaining control in the House and the Republicans making large gains in the Senate.
VanderWal says the Senate is important to the President in terms of moving Judge and Justice nominations and approving trade treaties.
