South Dakota Farm Bureau officials are pleased with state legislative passage of the infrastructure funding legislation. Farm Bureau Lobbyist Mike Held says lawmakers approved the bill at the end of the main run of the session Friday. He says the gas tax increase will help meet infrastructure needs at the state, county and township levels.

Held says the infrastructure measure will help out counties and townships which have been scrambling to try and find enough funds to keep up their roads and bridges.

Held says agriculture will be one of the main beneficiaries of the infrastructure package as it will provide for more stable and reliable farm to market roads going forward.
