South Dakota Farm Bureau is holding several information and educational seminars throughout the state during the summer months. Known as the “Summer Series” there are seven programs total, one for each Farm Bureau district. South Dakota Farm Bureau Executive Director, Krystil Smit talks about those seminars still to occur. The following Thursday, July 28th at Beresford, the summer series seminar will focus on transitioning the farming business from one generation to the next generation. The program will feature nationally known speaker Elaine Froese and will be held at the Beresford golf club. Smit says small businesses are also welcomed to attend the program. On August 8th, a livestock handling seminar will be held at Wall, South Dakota featuring Ted Howard of Oakley, Kansas. The final seminar in the summer series will be held August 15th at Davis Seeds at Waubay, South Dakota, and will feature the president of the American Farm Bureau Federation, Zippy DuVal. The South Dakota Farm Bureau official says the only time for a registration fee is the transitional meeting to be held at Beresford on July 28th. That fee is set at $25 per family.
