South Dakota Farm Bureau Disputes Report on Prevent Plan Payments

South Dakota Farm Bureau Disputes Report on Prevent Plan Payments

The Environmental Working Group released a report this week criticizing the prevent plant payments made to farmers in South and North Dakota. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott Vanderwal says the environmental group is off base with their report.

Vanderwal says farmers are not plowing up wetlands and if they do they won’t get government payments.  He says if it wasn’t for prevent plant assistance from the government some farmers would have gone under.

Vanderwal says EWG has a specific political agenda they’re following and their report was flat out wrong and cherry picked information to push their agenda.
