A South Dakota family with strong ties to the state’s FFA program has set up an endowment allowing for one FFA member to qualify for a $2,000 scholarship.  Gerri Eide, (I-dee) the executive director with the South Dakota FFA Foundation tells us more about the family’s generosity.

Eide says the DeRouchey’s three sons were all active in the FFA agriculture youth organization.

The South Dakota FFA Foundation official says more than 100 members applied for the scholarship, with the first scholarship to be presented during the Tuesday morning session of the upcoming South Dakota FFA state convention.

The South Dakota FFA State Convention begins Sunday.
