It now looks like South Dakota democrats may have a House primary election next year.

Brian Wirth of Dell Rapids announced last week he would seek the nomination for the seat now held by republican Dusty Johnson….

Wirth ran for the state Senate last year as an independent, but has since changed his registration….

Wirth says he knows it will be difficult to run as a democrat…

Whitney Raver of Custer has also said she will run for the House nomination. She has filed paperwork to create a campaign committee but will make a formal announcement next month.
