South Dakota Corn Growers Association delegates made minor changes to their state and national policy for 2017 at their annual meeting Saturday in Sioux Falls. President Keith Alverson says one of the resolutions approved would make changes in the wetlands delineation process and how wetlands are determined.
He says they also support policy that promotes carbon as the next new use for corn after ethanol.
And Alverson says with field hearings on the farm bill likely to start in the House this year they discussed some changes in the next farm program, including a fix to how ARC county payments are calculated to get rid of the disparities.
South Dakota Corn also supports a strong and vibrant crop insurance program as part of the farm safety net.
